Lincoln Health has partnered with Clear Health, a pioneer in healthcare cost transparency.
The partnership aims to empower patients by providing them with clear insights into their out-of-pocket expenses before receiving care at Lincoln Health facilities, hospital officials said in a press release.
Officials said patients will now receive personalized notifications, either via text or email, offering them a discounted rate for procedures if they choose to make advance payments. For those unable to pay upfront, Lincoln Health and Clear Health are introducing flexible monthly payment options to ensure accessibility to essential healthcare services, according to officials.
Tammy Cobb, chief financial officer of Lincoln Health, said she was enthusiastic about the partnership. “Lincoln Health is proud to partner with Clear Health to help our patients avoid unexpectedly high procedure costs with significantly reduced and patient-specific payment options for services,” Cobb said. “Our priority is to reduce out-of-pocket costs and increase price transparency for our patients.”
Officials said Clear Health uses precise and proprietary modeling techniques to provide customers with straightforward and accurate global price discounts for all services at Lincoln Health. Officials said it is anticipated that these initiatives will “lead to remarkable savings, potentially reaching up to 80% of expected patient out-of-pocket costs, with an average cost savings of approximately 50%.”
